Northridge’s Hidden Coffee Shop

Some of the best kept secrets are often hidden in plain sight. In the shopping center directly across from Target on Nordhoff St. and Balboa Blvd. tucked in between CVS Pharmacy and Albertson’s is one of Northridge coziest coffee shops, Gayle’s Perks.

Serving the community since 2004, Gayle’s Perks offers a casual indoor and outdoor patio atmosphere, perfect for having a conversation with a friend over a cup of coffee or some quiet time with a book or your laptop. A favorite study spot for CSUN students, and local writers, Gayle’s Perks serves up a full espresso bar as well as artisanal lose leaf teas, enjoyed hot or over ice. Their signature item is the coffee iced cubes, often served with an iced coffee beverage of your choice.

Gayle’s Perks offers fresh grilled paninis and homemade crepes. Some popular items include their bacon breakfast panini (bacon, egg, and your choice of cheese) and their strawberry Nutella crepe. All their paninis and crepes are made to order and customers have the option of turning a panini into a crepe and vice versa. Also available are their freshly baked homemade goods: chocolate croissants, bran muffins, cranberry orange muffins, and cookies.

All drinks are between $2 to $5 and menu items are from $7 – $10. If the secret patio with a fire pit, the strong, freshly brewed coffee, and the delicious menu items is not enough to draw you in, their friendly and welcoming baristas are sure to win you over. So, stop by, bring a friend or a book and grab a cuppa or two!
