Trying to figure out what to do this weekend? Well, you don’t have to drive far. This weekend, the San Fernando Valley is bursting with back-to-back events from one end of the (818) to another! You’ll have many opportunities to support local businesses as well as the community.
Friday, August 27
Magnolia Park Night Out in Burbank: Every last Friday of the month from 6pm – 9pm, food trucks line Magnolia Blvd between Hollywood Way and Catalina St., while the shops along the boulevard stay open a little later and the air is filled with live music from some local performers. Bring the family over for a Friday night out on the Boulevard.
Summer Nights Sidewalk Series at Café Aficionado: Stop by Café Aficionado in Northridge from 5pm – 8:30pm and check out this pop-up of small businesses and food vendors. Reggie and Abby Cua, owners of Café Aficionado, are all about the community and supporting local, small business owners. These pop-ups are their way of showcasing and featuring the local businesses in their community.
Grill N’ Chill at Yonder Coffee in Northridge: Join the team at Yonder Coffee for an End-Of-Summer Pop-up at their location from 5pm – 8pm. Hang out and enjoy some bacon wrapped hotdogs, affaogatos, and elotes. There will a raffle and free Yonder stickers.

Gourmet Community Pop-Up Meal: About My Father’s Business is hosting a FREE community event from 1pm – 3pm. Come by and get free groceries and enjoy a hot gourmet meal by Chef Roxie of Happy Insides Catering. The event is being held at the FISH of West Valley Food Pantry 20440 Lassen St., Chatsworth.
Valley Retro Game Swap: Game Realms is hosting a special Valley Retro Game Swap from 3pm – 7pm. Buy, sell, trade NES, Sega, Genesis and Playstation (and more!) games with vendors at the Game Realms Courtyard 137 N. Victory Blvd, Burbank 91502.
The Valley FEST: San Fernando Valley Realtor and social media influencer Nestor Aguilar, the 818 Insider, teams up with the Westfield Topanga Mall and the Village, to bring you The Valley Fest, a community pop-up of local vendors and businesses all over the San Fernando Valley. This FREE event will feature food and craft vendors, a beer garden sponsored by the 8one8 Brewing Company, the San Fernando Brewing Company, Golden Road Brewing and Kona Brewing Co. as well as live music and performances, a Kidz Zone, and much more. Performances and entertainment line up organized and coordinated by Lenny of Danzone Dance Studio. Tickets are still available at linktr.ee/the818insider. The event will take place on the corner of Topanga Canyon and Victory Blvd in Woodland Hills from 5pm -10pm.
San Fernando Outdoor Market: It’s the last Saturday of the month and the historic city of San Fernando comes to life with the monthly San Fernando Outdoor Market. This time, they team up with My Valley Pass, the San Fernando Valley’s #1 Visitor’s Guide! Join them this Saturday for 50+ vendors, live music, and a car show under the stars. Don’t forget to pick up the Valley 6-pack available at the Truman House Tavern while supplies last. The event is located at 911 San Fernando Rd., San Fernando and will be held from 5pm – 9pm.
Sunday, August 29
The Nerd Festival: It’s round two as Flipz Collectibles host their second Nerd Festival at Plaza del Valle 8610 Van Nuys Blvd, Panorama City. This event will be held from 10am – 5pm and will feature 20+ local vendors of all genres from comic books to collectibles to video games. Check out this fun, family friendly event on a Sunday! It’ll also give you a chance to check out the shops and restaurants at Plaza Del Valle.
SFV Roller Derby: If you’ve ever wanted to watch a Roller Derby, catch one this Sunday at the Cage (Outdoor rink) in North Hollywood (11455 W Magnolia Blvd, North Hollywood 91601). It’s the Bad Mama Jammas vs the Panic At The Anti-Disco. Doors open at 4:30pm. Bring your own chair and a $5 donation to be collected at the door. Game time is at 5pm.
Meet Burbank Mayor Bob Frutos: Wind down your Sunday with Chow Down Burbank event with Burbank Mayor Bob Frutos. Enjoy love music and awesome Mexican food at Barragan’s Mexican Restaurant from 5pm – 8pm. Reservations are recommended. Call 818.848.2325.
