It’s a three-day weekend! Woohoo! If you’re having a low-key, staycation this weekend in the San Fernando Valley, check out this weekend’s event line up, starting this Friday night.

Friday, September 3:

Summer Nights Sidewalk Series at Café Aficionado: Get ready for another Sidewalk Series! Stop by Café Aficionado in Northridge from 5pm – 8:30pm, check out this pop-up of small businesses and food vendors, and order a Japanese Egg Sandwich from the Café. Reggie and Abby Cua, owners of Café Aficionado, are all about the community and supporting local, small business owners. These pop-ups are their way of showcasing and featuring the local businesses in their community. Tonight’s awesome vendor line up includes: Macramade by Mel, Clau Creations, A Dream Catcher Official, Bear and Belle Bakery, Unc’s Chicago BBQ, Batter Up Churros, Unicorncopia Farm, Sewing Momentos, Tansano, and Mobile Barebershop by Lily.

Pat Benatar and Neil Giraldo at the Starlight Bowl: Catch rock ‘n roll power couple Pat Benatar and Neil Giraldo at the Starlight Bowl tonight! For four decades these two have been making music together, and tonight their songs will be heard on this Burbank hillside. Martha Davis and The Motels, one of L.A’s original new wave bands, will be the opening act. Tickets are still available of the website. Doors open at 6:00pm and show starts at 6:30pm. Please read attendance guidelines when purchasing tickets.

Moonlit Fridays at the NITE CAP: Had a long week? Need a laugh under the stars? We got just the thing! Check out NiteCap LA, an outdoor comedy spot in the media capital of the world, featuring top comedians from HBO, Netflix, and Showtime. The brain child of comedian Aaron Milner, NiteCap LA has been a safe haven for comedians during the pandemic, giving them a space and an audience to perform. EXA BAND-Better than the Radio: Every Friday and Saturday night, catch one of the 818’s prominent live bands, The EXA Band, playing tunes from every decade and across genres since 2014. You can watch them playing at Los Tres Hermanos in Van Nuys on Fridays and Saturdays at 7:00pm. No cover charge. Come in for drinks, food, and awesome live music!

Saturday, September 4

818 POP UP PRESENTS HOODFOODIE TAKE OVER: It’s round two for this pop-up collaboration! The Hood Foodie, Alexander Orozco, and 818 Pop-Up creator, Marie Salazar once again join forces to bring together 50 plus small business vendors from and around the San Fernando Valley. Admission is free at this family friendly community event. There will be a live DJ onsite and a free swag bag for the first 50 guests. Doors open at 3:00pm through 8:00pm.

Sunday, September 5

818 Collectible Market x Barter Town: The 818 Night Market partners up with We Can Be Heroes for another fun-filled family event from 12pm – 5pm. They got toys, comics, collectibles, and art! There will be music and activities for the whole family to enjoy! If that’s not enough to entice you, Kettle Kooked Popkorn will also be on site selling their famous kettle corn! Join in on the fun.

Warner Park Concert: Catch the last concert of the season brought to you by Valley Cultural Foundation. Enjoy a free concert at Warner Park featuring the sweet tunes of Sir Elton John as performed by Kenny Metcalf. This tribute show captures Elton John in the 1970s .
